All About Item IDs

So you're looking for Item ID numbers, right? Well, you've come to the right place. An ID number is a number that Neopets uses to identify an item. Every time that an item is released, it gets an ID number. (Therefore, each item has an unique ID number.) For example, the first item released (a Green Apple) gets an ID number of 1.

So anyways, here's how you can find ID numbers. There are five places you can get ID numbers - your shop, the Shop Wizard, your Gallery, a Neopets Shop Restock and your Safety Deposit Box. You can jump to the different sections using the quick-jump links below!

Your Shop | Shop Wizard | User Shops | Your Gallery | Neopets Shop Restock | Your SDB | Your Closet

Your Shop

The first thing you need to do first is to view source. There are two ways you can do this:

1) Right click and click on 'View Source'
2) Or, you can just click here in Firefox: Source of Your Shop

Then, you should look for the item name in the source through Control + F. (In this example, Shop Wizard Usuki.)

When you get there, you should look for the following phrase: 'back_to_inv' (The number in the bracket is the ID number.)

Shop Wizard

The Shop Wizard is the easiest way to get an Item ID - No view sourcing. :P

The first thing you need to do is to paste your item name into the text box next to 'What are you looking for?' and set 'Search Items' to 'identical to my phrase'.

You should then hit your Enter key. On the next page, you'll see a bunch of user owned shops. When hovering over a link, you should see a URL on your status bar down there. *points down*

Anyways, if you look up, you will see that it says '&buy_obj_info_id=28441'. 28441 represents the Shop Wizard Usuki's ID number. (This number changes for each and every particular item.)

User Shops

So you're in a user's shop and you want to look for an item ID? Never fear, since it doesn't even require clicking of any sort. :P

Just hover an item and you'll get the Item ID. (The Item ID is the number after '&buy_obj_info_id'.)

Your Gallery

So you want to find an ID number that the Shop Wizard doesn't have but you have the item in your gallery? All you need to do is view source!
Way One:
First, you need to go to the Gallery Quick Remove or Remove Items page. You should then right click and then hit 'View Source' or (if you're in Firefox) click here.
Then, you should hit Control + F and search for your item name. Once you have, look for the following line: 'remove_qty_arr'. The number in the brackets is the Item ID number.

Way Two:
Here's another way to find the Item ID in your Gallery!

1) Go to the Quick Remove (Also known as 'Remove Items' on your Gallery Page) and view source. Scroll down and you will find a list (long or short, depending on the amount of items you have in your gallery). Shift back over to the Quick Remove/Remove Items page and find the item(s) that you want the Item ID for. We're not done yet. ;)

2) You should then hit Toggle View Images. That will bring up the Item Image. Right-click on the item image and hit Properties. Click on the image location and drag it all the way over. (The image url starts with "http://images.neopets.com/items/"). Everything after that is your "image name". You should copy and paste everything after "http://images.neopets.com/items/" and before ".gif" by hitting CTRL + C. Switch back to the source and then look for your "image name" (You can do this quickly in Firefox - hit CTRL + F and paste it into the search down by your status bar.)

3) After you have found your "image name", scroll down one line. The number right after oii_arr[item#]= is your Item ID. You should also make sure that the number in the brackets for both lines are the same. (e.g. In the picture above, file_arr[67] and oii_arr[67] have the same number in the brackets - 67.) That is when you can be sure that it's your Item ID.

Neopets Shop Restock

So you're in a restock and found an item that's not listed here? Well, here's how you can get the Item ID!

All you need to do is hover over the item and look for 'obj_info_id='. The number after it is the ID number.

Safety Deposit Box

You're in your SDB and you want to look for an Item ID? No problem - You can do this two ways. (First way's infinitely easier.)

First Way: Hover over the 'Rm One' under the text box. You should see this: "javascript:onClick=passPin(2490,32423,'','');" You are looking for the second number of the four. (In this, it would be 32423.) That is the Item ID number. The first number is the page number (if you divide by 30.)

Second Way: You should right click and view-source (or clicking here in Firefox.) Then, look for your item name. In my example, it's the Shop Wizard Usuki. Once you do that, you should then look for 'back_to_inv'. The numbers within the brackets there is the ID number.

Your Closet

You can also obtain IDs of the clothing items in your Closet (except for the special PB wearables, which you cannot obtain).

First, you need to go to the Your Closet. You should then right click and then hit 'View Source'. (Or if you're in Firefox click here.)

Then, hit CTRL + F on your keyboard to bring up the Find box. Search for the item's name you'd like to see. If you were looking for the Floating Space Faerie Doll, you'd see something like this...

<tr bgcolor='#F6F6F6'>
<td><img src='http://images.neopets.com/items/mall_spacefaeriedoll.gif' border='1'></td>
<td><b>Floating Space Faerie Doll<br></b></td>
<td><i>If you take her up to space, be sure to hold on tight. She likes to float away.</i></td>
<td align='center'><b>Toys</b></td>
<td align='center'><b>1</b></td>
<td align='center'><input type='text' name='37830' value='0' size='3'></td>
</tr>
The number in purple is your ID number!
